This is a relatively new area of research. Studies so far suggest that ginger has anti-diabetic properties. In a 2015 study, 41 type 2 diabetes patients were given 2 grams of ginger powder per day. This reduced blood sugar level by 12% and improved hemoglobin A2c(HbA1c). It also reduced the Apolipoprotein B/ApolipoproteinA-I by 28% and malondialdehyde by 23%. This reduced heart disease risk factors.

Chronic indigestion treatment

Recurrent discomfort and pain in the stomach characterize chronic indigestion. Indigestion occurs when emptying of the stomach is delayed. In a 2011 study, functional dyspepsia patients were given ginger. After 1 hour, they were given soup. Their stomachs were emptied in 12.3 minutes. In the same study, other patients were also given placebo. Their stomachs were emptied in 16.1 minutes.

Menstrual Pain Reduction

Ginger is traditionally used for relief from menstrual pain. According to studies, ginger is more effective than drugs.
