Considering the risks and problems associated with COVID-19, several governments and technology leaders like Vehant Technologies are looking for innovative ways to combat this ‘new normal’. The tech startup is a leader in offering AI based solutions for various organizations and it has now sensed a new opportunity to help mankind in this tough crisis.
Kapil Talreja, Co-founder and CEO, Vehant Technologies, added, “We have developed an innovative AI-based solution over the past three months, an automated temperature screening camera. It combines the use of a visual and thermal camera. It is powered by FebriEye technology for different premises. The system has been programmed for face mask detection.”
The company also offers a constant source of temperature monitoring “Black Body” to ensure accurate temperature readings of +0.3oC. The device keeps track of thermodynamic ambience which cannot be done without black body.
Black body completely absorbs the electromagnetic radiation in all wavelengths. Hence, no transmission or reflection will be recorded on it. It radiates at all wavelengths for all possible emitters. There is no dependence on angles in terms of radiation density. It forms the basis for knowing the principles of non-contact temperature and for calibration of infrared devices. There are so many Chinese products of this type in the market but all of them cannot have a black body.
The company is focused on manufacturing very accurate systems. According to the company, they import only 40% of components while 60% of the parts are manufactured in India. In addition, the software is also developed in-house, which is the heart of the system.
The company is looking forward to selling over 100,000 cameras within the next 3-6 months. They are targeting to install these cameras at railway stations, metro stations, and airports as lockdown eases to boost full scale operations. The company will install the devices with black body to provide more precise measurements as per the Planck’s Law.
This thermal scanner system is also recommended by the FDA for their accurate temperature measurements. A lot of tools and measures are being popular these days to deal with the spread of COVID-19. Screening body temperature is one of the common practices with thermography.
